Urban Gospel Alliance Mixer during Holy Hip Hop Week in Atlanta
Atlanta, Georgia – January 17, 2007 – Urban Gospel Alliance (UGA)

A UGA Networking Mixer will take place at the Crowne Plaza Atlanta-Marietta, 1775 Parkway Place, SE, Marietta, Georgia 30067 and begin at 9:00 PM on Thursday, January 17, 2008, to kick off the 2008 Holy Hip Hop Week. The focus of this year’s mixer will be fittingly placed on varied designers and clothiers. “Rhymes & Runway” will feature some of the hottest fashion designers and artists repin’ the Kingdom and blazin’ the runway. Artists from various genres of Urban Gospel music and Holy Hip Hop are strongly encouraged to attend.

The mixer will include a runway fashion show, live performances, give-a-ways, and 4 randomly selected conference attendees will be chosen for on-the-spot makeovers, which will walk away with exclusive designs and valuable merchandise.

Hip hop is more than music; it’s a culture; a way of life, in which fashion plays a key role. Hip-hop has the ability to take a negative and turn it into a positive-a profitable business-a ministry. Hip-hop Gospel embraces urban youth, young adults, and the young at heart (those whose influence shape the fashion industry) to positively impact and transform their lives.

This UGA mixer tradition continues as the UGA Georgia chapter hosts Christian designers, Urban Gospel ministries, media, artists, labels, and other industry movers and shakers.

Ursula Frederick-Brown, UGA-Georgia chapter director, and Curtis Jermany, UGA founder, will be on hand to meet with artists, designers, and others interested in the varied opportunities at UGA sponsored events.

Wow, can you really believe its 2008 already!? I don’t know about you but 2007 was a tough year for me. I always take a few moments to reflect on the past year on New Years. I try to think about all the mistakes I’ve made, and successes I’ve achieved. Try to put things into perspective and move ahead.

2007 was the year Vintage Clothing Limited was born. Since that 5th of May we have had allot of grass roots success and the word is spreading like wildfire as the brand grows up a little. As designers Eric and I really try to think outside the medium of what everyone else is doing. I call that a good thing. We’re not too concerned with following trends and we definitely take risks. I think in the end that will pay off.

Going into 2008 we are working on some of our best pieces to date. I’m really excited about what this year has to offer and we’re making great strides to build a brand that remains timeless. Quality is a big issue with us. For me, its my #1 priority. Our stuff has gotten allot of positive feedback and the absolute high level of quality be it the materials (fabrics), the graphics, or the intricate printing techniques. Its good to see the emails come in that proves I’m not alone.

So I’ll end this by saying… in 2008, you have no idea. You are in for some fresh new designs and quality threads! Watch what happens.
